La Grange des Hirondelles is a beautifully restored holiday cottage (gite) in the South Touraine area of the Loire Valley, in Central France. It is located in a small hamlet near Bournan, between Sainte Maure and Ligueil. The gite is set on a rise, with far reaching views over the peaceful and tranquil countryside. There is a garden and orchard totalling almost 6000 sq metres for you to enjoy, together with a swimming pool measuring 10 m x 5 m.
The holiday cottage is part of a former farm, and is set next to the owner's house. It is the only holiday cottage / gite on the site, so you are assured a restful holiday, with exclusive use of the swimming pool.
The gite is very spacious, and furnished to a high standard. It has two bedrooms, which together with a convertible bed / settee in the main sitting room, means that the gite can sleep up to 7 people.
The setting of the cottage is very rural, being surrounded by fields. However it is only 10 minutes by car to Sainte Maure, Ligueil, or Descartes; which between them have four supermarkets. For more extensive shopping the major towns of Tours and Loches are both about half an hour's drive away from the gite. Both have old quarters to explore and a very good selection of restaurants.
The gite is ideally situated for visiting the famous chateaux of the Loire Valley, such as Amboise, Chinon, Chenonceau, Villandry, and Azay le Rideau.
For wine lovers several of the Loire Valley appellations (e.g. Chinon, Vouvray etc) are within a short drive.
This gite has all the ingredients to provide you with a restful and idyllic holiday in the famous Loire Valley, whether it be exploring the area, chateaux visiting, or simply relaxing by the swimming pool and enjoying the tranquillity.
