As from December 2005 the new A28 motorway has been opened.  It joins the A13 motorway south west of Rouen with the A10 motorway at Tours.  This significantly shortens journey times from Caen, Cherbourg, Le Havre and Dieppe.  It also provides a more westerly route, avoiding Paris, for those travelling from Calais.   You will however need an up to date French road atlas to find it.  The above timings take account of the new motorway link.

Directly after passing through the motorway exit toll booth at junction 25 you come to a roundabout. Take the first exit off the roundabout, and at the next roundabout (after approx 200yds) also take the first exit - signposted Chatellerault, Loches, Ligeuil and Descartes. You will now be on the new bypass which passes round the south of Sainte Maure

At the next roundabout (junction of the main N10 Tours - Chatellerault road) go straight over the roundabout, signposted Loches and Ligeuil.

At the next roundabout, take the first exit, signposted Sepmes and Ligeuil.

Continue on through the village of Sepmes.

About 2 miles after Sepmes there are are series of bends. After the last bend the road straightens and you can see the church spire of Bournan directly ahead of you.

Approx 1/3 mile before Bournan is a turning to the right. It is signposted La Soultiere, but you can't see the signpost until you have gone past it !  Take this turning.  Follow the road as it turns 90° to the right; and then continue straight ahead, ignoring any turnings to the left, until you reach La Grange des Hirondelles at the end of a short no through gravel driveway.  Ignore any numbers you see on other houses, there is absolutely no logic to the house numbering system in la Soultiere.
